London-based Andy Smythe has recently delivered his second single of the year, and with the traction behind him, it's no wonder he's got another one out.
... a blues-tinged, beat-driven modern protest anthem, very relatable for the masses.
"Life of a Man" is a wonderful track that kicks off with a rather bluesy/roots kind of feel, and then as soon as his vocals come in, it's like meeting an old mate. The song is a stirring modern protest song all rooted in Gen Z's struggle for identity amid rising rents, lack of opportunities, and lack of finances seemingly at their disposal.
There are massive nods to the likes of Glastonbury legend Billy Bragg here with the directness of the song, and let's not forget, this track has a delightful beat to it which you'll find yourself tapping along to without realising - and yes, I was doing so even on the first play.
This is a great example of a British-based singer-songwriter who is writing music that plenty of people can relate to, so be sure to check this out and his previous singles too!
