Following on from their 2025 campaign that saw SLAPPER release an album and a collection of singles, the Bucharest synth-pop act has today returned with "Into the Light".
... a cinematic synth-driven journey where 1980s nostalgia meets modern techno.
The new cut is simply stunning, a cinematic, instrumental journey that blends synthpop, synthwave, and melodic techno into something quietly powerful.
You get a lot of decades fusing together here, with a string of 1980s synth vibe being the biggest one of the bunch. Personally speaking, I don't know too much about Romanian music, but this sounds like an absolute bop that can take them way past the national stages.
It's subtle rhythmic pulses create a soundtrack-like atmosphere that feels both uplifting and introspective, and with that, we can see them only getting more and more plays as time goes by. So be sure to check this out and delve deep into SLAPPER's previous cuts, too.
