really regular reveals the addictive new tune, "Crickets"

"really regular" is an indie-rock duo based in Nashville, United States, and their new effort is a delicious slice of everything I enjoy about this genre.

... compact blast of nostalgic indie rock that sounds far bigger than a duo.

It is just a duo, and yet the sound they've made sounds like a full band of five or six people are performing it. Right from the get-go, the intro has an easy blend of breezy late 90s rock about it and mid-2000s drive. It is addictive.

I found myself getting really into the track when those hazy vocals came in, and as the track progressed, the chorus was more of a sealing the deal, if you will. I was invested, and the best thing is they've got plenty of tracks stretching back at least two years. If you fell into their sound like I did, there's plenty more quality tunes that came from.

It is just 3 minutes and 33 seconds of unapologetic indie rock with driving hooks and vocals that will have you singing along in no time. If you ever get the chance to see this Nashville duo live, then make sure you do. I feel like they can easily break out on the scene and be a nationally recognised outfit in no time.
