Sean MacLeod shares the solid new cut, "Light Up the Sun"

Sean MacLeod’s "Light Up the Sun" is the new single from the Irish singer-songwriter, lifted from his debut album, "New Start".

... a jangly, nostalgia-soaked alt-rock track that feels like The Verve reborn in Dublin.

It's an instantly nostalgic track with a delicate balance of acoustic guitar and alternative rock vocals beckoning listeners forward. It starts off, like I said, rather acoustically, but as soon as the track builds, it becomes this alt-rock gem that sounds like it would perfectly fit into the 90s scene.

The reverb-drenched rock really helps to bring his vocals to the forefront, and that jangly tone beneath it, for me at least, drew me into the track. Obviously, with anything that sounds like it's from the 90s, is rather guitar-leaning, and a bit jangly, everyone's going to assume it's influenced by the likes of Oasis. This song sounds more like The Verve if they were based in Dublin. It's kind of got that elegant charm to it.
