The House Flies drop their expansive tune, "Lost Literature."

The House Flies are a four-piece dark alternative band based out of Moline, Illinois, and they have recently delivered a crunchy post-punk track filled with dream pop bliss. It reminds me a lot of New Order in places, especially with the vocals being a bit hushed and the bassline being so chunky.

... a dreamy, New Order-inspired post-punk cut blending hushed vocals, chunky basslines, and expansive 80s darkwave atmospheres.

It's a really dreamy affair with a delicate balance of synths and expansive drum beats, giving the listener a sense of atmosphere and arrival. This new offering acts as the second single from their upcoming album, Lions and Ore, and if you like what you hear, then there are at least another 15 songs on Spotify for you to discover.

One thing I did like is that the track will grip you. It will hold you, it will keep you in your place, and the rhythm of it is fantastic, with some steady beats and a bassline that will have you grooving along in no time. If you're a fan of The Smiths and that kind of darkwave music from the '80s and early '90s, then you're going to love this band.
