Small bands review... Goldhawks

Ok, maybe not a tiny band, not that well known on the indie scene either... But, they have supported The Temper Trap (just after they found fame thanks to 'Sweet Disposition'), they are now supporting The Courteeners at the 02 Academy in Brixton on March 18th 2010.

I have listened to 1996, Running Away and Where In The World [You can listen too, HERE].

Named after the West London street they were born and raised on, the Goldhawks palette is a unique mix of vintage Americana and quintessentially British fare – think Ryan Adams, Petty, Springsteen, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Cure and you’re somewhere in the right ball park. Now that is not a bad pool of talent to be associated with is it?

All in all the three tracks on their myspace really do justice to how good these guys are, keep an eye out for them in 2010 as they will be getting high profile gigs (well supporting bands...) and playing at 'Bestival'

Maybe 2011 will be their breakthrough year... or 2010 even, if enough people like them when they support The Courteeners on tour then they can climb the indie well known list ladder (if such a thing exists).

Out of 5 - From what i have heard - 4/5 - Keep an eye on them!
