Martin Kuiper continues to build momentum from Ruurlo, Netherlands, with "So You Left Me With A Smile". The track is part of a five-song EP release, which is made up of five different versions of the same song.
It seems to be a track that dates back to 2022, as you can see from the EP release. There is a session dating back to that year; however, this lead track is the 2026 version.
... an upbeat, infectious indie rock track blending pop sensibilities and Britpop flair, signalling a rising European talent with breakout potential.
The track comes in at under three minutes long, but it's one of those punchy indie rock cuts that is laced with pop sensibilities, and a drum beat that can get anyone tapping their feet along. It reminds me in places of Vampire Weekend mixed with a little hint of Britpop. A very unique blend, but for me, it was a sound that got me very interested within the first minute.
There is no denying that Martin is an artist who is on the rise within his national music scene, and with tracks dating back as far as 2023 having tens of thousands of plays on them, he is certainly an artist who seems like he is wanting to break out onto the wider European scene.
There is no denying the upbeat and addictive nature of this song, so do yourself a favour and listen to "So You've Left Me With A Smile" as soon as you can.
