Last year As Elephants Are made a similar position in our sounds of 2014 leading to a year for the boys from Bucks that continued to see them grow. It was last year's 'Crystal' which stole our hearts and that of TV
backing tracks. This year though, they've been able to sing their own
praises through one of the most consistent debut EPs, 'Hand Prints -
EP'. Title track 'Hand Prints' is a twinkling sensation, whilst
'Kingdom' delivered the bands biggest sound to date, with a deeper, more
euphoric plunge into the songbook.
With their second EP, 'Crown', being released earlier this week, As Elephants Are have revealed more dimensions to them. The wiry vocals of Ben Stratford continue to be as catchy as ever and a re-issue of one of their first tracks, 'War Cry', which is just as captivating as it was in 2012.
There's no doubt they'll keep touring and adding to their modest fan base. Will 2015 finally see an album from one of the most promising new sounds around? We'll have to wait and see.
