Sounds of 2015 - #2 - Wolf Alice

We tipped them as our #1 last year, but since they've been touring a lot and have still yet to release an album they're once again on our list. But with personal bias aside - fast growing London guitar outfit Wolf Alice were certainly my highlight of Glastonbury festival. Ellie and her joyous companions blew away all of the early punters at the John Peel Stage with a taste of old song such as "Bros" and new by transferring what is on record into something completely new. They've recently uploaded "Giant Peach", which is a track that's a real departure from their folk beginnings, and you can still hear elements of this when they play their tracks in an acoustic format.

They've managed to bottle the excitement of their live show into their track "She" and "Storms", it's big and bold just like their guitar hooks, lovely distorted bass, Ellie's sweet vocals and pounding drums. One of the best garage-rock tracks of the year so far, and because of that we're eagerly awaiting the full release of the EP, as we can see it being the platform the band needs to be pushed further into the consciousness of the masses. After singing to Dirty Hit this year expect to see them release an EP or single followed by the ever anticipated album!
