Ukrainian Alt-Pop star Janeuary drops new tune, "Awakening"

Based out of Kyiv in Ukraine is the rising Alt-Pop star Janeuary, and earlier on this month they dropped their stunning new tune, "Awakening". The track is dominated by some soul-touching vocals and captivating violin strings, it's the perfect way to get into this emerging artist and to be honest I found myself swooning over it within the first minute. Absolutely stunning, both vocally and musically. The vocals here are a soft blend of Lana Del Rey's delivery but with the strong range that Florence Welch has, all wrapped up around it is this underlying haze. The strings on the song need to be praised to the moon and back, they really enhance the song and I can see myself falling in love with a strings-only version of the track. With Janeuary's country going through some touch times in recent years this new single acts as a beacon of light for everyone, it's stunning and gives you an overwhelming sense that everything is going to be ok. Paper Daisies drops their big new tune, "Take What You Need"

Coming out of Nottingham is Paper Daisies and the trip has recently dropped their big new tune, "Take What You Need". What makes this track even more amazing is that it's the follow-up to their 2020 debut, so to say that they've been keeping their fans waiting may seem like an understatement. Time to get your grunge on with this fantastic slice of 90s nostalgia! The start of the track is incredibly chunky, and in a way almost offers up an apology to their fans by saying 'Here, enjoy this absolute monster of a riff and huge drums'. It's very early 90s grunge and with the vocals coming in shortly after the intro the track sounds somewhat alt-rock and even post-punk with some of the tones heard. The pace of the track is great and in all honestly, it sounds like the band should be touring all over the UK with their sound. It's time to get your grunge on with this fantastic slice of 90s nostalgia, so be sure to check this track out and their debut too!

Dirty Slippers reveals their new single, "ON TOP OF THE WORLD"

Back with just their third English-language song is Dirty Slippers and their new single, "On Top Of The World". The single is one of those melodic indie-rock tunes that burst with sun-kissed hooks and vocals that you'll have an urge to sing along to. Anthemic with vocals that are urging you to sing along to. Musically I'm reminded of the anthemic nature of The Courteeners mixed with the bright sounds of The Kooks. Even though the band is based out of Budapest in Hungary the song has this incredibly British feel to it, and a major reason for that would be that it was recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios with producer George Shilling (who's worked with Oasis and Frank Turner amongst others). The song is lifted from their forthcoming album - also recorded at Abbey Road Studios - so if you're loving the sounds of this bold new tune then you certainly need to check out the album when it drops!

YDEA reveals their second-ever single, "Lovers Game"

Following on from their strong debut single, "Forest Fire", which was released last year is YDEA with their second-ever single, "Lovers Game". A delicate blend of piano keys and soft vocals hushes it way into your ears from the get-go, and when you factor in some electronic swooshes in the background the track presents itself to you as one that can move you from the first listen. Be prepared to get wowed by YDEA and her vocals, and make sure you stick around as this London-based artist is certainly going places. As soon as the chorus hits YDEA's vocals effectively confirm that you'll be staying around until the end of the tune. The power behind her vocals is fantastic, they're fiery but not too much it's off-putting, and angelic that they can reach the inner workings of your soul. J.J. Chamberlain shares his debut single, "Eyeballs"

Hailing out of the York music scene is emerging singer-songwriter J.J. Chamberlain, and just last week saw him share his debut single, "Eyeballs". ... if you like your rock to be more on the indie-rock side of things with a dreamy underbelly then "Eyeballs" is for you! A big intro to the song kicks things off, and it's baptism that we absolutely adore with it being 50 seconds of pure guitar sounds, cascading drums and quivering basslines. I have to admit even on the first listen I was hooked on the track, and with his smooth vocals, it didn't take long to convince me to invest into the song. The single seemingly gets better with every listen, and each time around you can hear more potential influences, with some comparisons being drawn against the likes of Manic Street Preachers all the way to more dreamy sounds associated with Beach House, but to be frank, if you like your rock to be more on the indie-rock side of things with a dreamy underbelly then "
