Introducing... Spring King

Last year we went on down to DIY's All Dayer - ran in conjunction with Transmission and Pledge Music - and we knew it would be a great night due to the bookers and the magazine that was hosting the night, but there was one band on the night that we didn't know of, but after, we loved! That was Spring King.

They're one of the most exciting bands currently touring the smaller venues in the UK, and their latest track "City" was championed by Zane Lowe and was played relentlessly by me when I first heard it. They've got a great blend of deep and bassy riffs with a urgency that was prominent in the mid 00's. It's not all about that one song though, Better Man", it's a punchy three minute rock anthem laden with breezy guitar hooks, choruses that are designed to be shouted from the rooftops and a track, lets put it simply, destined for the big stages at festivals!

Looking into the band further we saw that they've recently played the Transgressive 10 show, and they're signed to a Transgressive imprint, Paradyse (Theme Park) as well as having a solid live performance! This band was and now is a real treat every time we stick them on to listen to, think of The Vaccines crossed with atmospheric Strokes and the live performance of Foals, just electric!
