Hailing from Atlanta, GA, is Last Relapse, and after a 13-year hiatus, the act has returned with a big new single, "Everyone Dances Outside of Their Bodies".
... an expansive indie-rock anthem that polishes their original edge into a dreamy, slow-burn earworm with a touch of Radiohead.
This to me feels that it's more than a comeback; it's a confident evolution, channelling the band's original indie-rock edge through years of lived experience. It's got that distinct 2010s feel to it with a more polished edge that you tend to hear in massive indie-rock anthems these days.
It's a very dreamy offering in places, too, with expansive guitar sounds echoing throughout, all the while elevating the vocals. It's sonic, anthemic and yet not too aggressively in your face - one of those slow-burner anthems that'll end up eating into your brain long after it's finished. Very Radiohead in places to,o might I add, so if you like your more alt-rock sounds with expansive sounds, then be sure to head first into this.
