Having spent much of his earlier career as a idiosyncratic producer of glitching synths and dulcet tones, London-based producer and singer Greg Hummell aka Apidae now returns with an unconventionally laid-back release with the beautifully arranged and uplifting ‘Still Life’.
Following in the footsteps of acts like The xx and Caribou, this new offering sees him pursue a far more organic feel, swapping out electronic additions for a more broad and live-based affair. Keeping the production as minimal as possible, we are able to fully absorb with wonderfully warm and wistful aesthetic he has conceived, showcasing him as a true talent worth listening to.
