It's All Indie

Comfort - Hometime

Brighton is, has and always will be known for a hub of amazing bands and musicians, and the city's latest offering is Comfort, with their smooth and heartwarming track "Hometime".

The track is laden with some beautifully smooth vocals and synths with some licks of piano to give it more of a down to earth vibe, thick basslines and even some sprinkles of glockenspiel. The track is a big statement from the band who have has a great 2019 and will almost be certainly pushing themselves to break it out of Brighton and play even more shows, especially now they've played a set for none-other-than Sofar Sounds (a YouTube channel that always picks up on the best new artists all over the world).

You can check out the video for "Hometime" below, which is almost a James Bond style video, you can easily see this with some credits over the top right before a movie! It's a powerful yet hauntingly beautiful track that you definitely need to listen to, we know we've played it a few times already!

The Valla – Lately

For this week’s Friday’s Finest we’ve picked ‘Lately’ from London quartet The Valla.
The band are currently hiding whilst they work on new material, but this track from last year’s debut EP ‘Just Chemicals’ is an absolute tune. Anthemic guitars bellow throughout whilst frontman George Coulson’s vocal presence fills your speaker.

Holding the line between Pop and rock, inspired by the likes of Cage the Elephant and Gang of Youths, The Valla play what they describe as ‘music for damaged souls’ for those craving a deeper meaning in life.

Llovers - Feeling Sound

Infectious indie-pop quintet Llovers produce a perfectly crafted mix of upbeat psychedelic melodies in their new single ‘Feeling Sound’.

The lead single from the Teesside band’s upcoming EP ‘I Don’t Wanna Be Alone’ features an anthemic chorus and can be best described as a certified indie bop.

Cathedral Bells - In Absentia

Cathedral Bells have recently released a space filled, mellow, dream-pop track titled 'In Absentia'. Cathedral Bells has been the ever expanding project by Matt Messore since he returned to his hometown of Cassadaga. Born of bedroom based, DIY leanings, Cathedral Bells has grown into an act that has undoubtedly gifted nuggets of gold to the music community. One such nugget of gold being the the self titled album in 2019. With the latest album set for March 6th, this single is a timely reminder of just how much fuel is left in the tank for Cathedral Bells.
