Coffee In The Morning discusses the beauty in the mundane necessities that we all sign up for in life, and is a much-needed feel good guitar-led spring anthem in which Patrick Barry showcases his authenticity. From a leaking roof to mortgage payments, the track throws away the previously overused cliches often housed within a traditional love song.
Now going solo, Patrick Barry is formerly of Navar and The Barry Brothers Band and hails from Fillmore, New York. Now based in High Point, NC, Barry began penning songs at 18 back in 1998 as a broken-hearted U.S. Marine stationed at Twentynine Palms, California, writing love letters in the Mojave Desert. Having then joined Navar, Patrick recorded four albums, gained traction with regional radio and toured throughout the early noughties. Fast-forward to 2010 and you’ll find the birth of The Barry Brothers band, born out of Patrick’s younger brother Bradford’s college project. It was not until 2014 that Patrick was reunited with his first love after 17 years apart.
“Coffee in the Morning is about the reanalysis of the concept of true love. It's not about the honeymoon or the few days on vacation every other year...it's about feeling joy, satisfaction and excitement in the beautiful monotony of everyday life. I recently became a step dad and this was my reaction to the changes and "warnings” that were thoughtfully shared with me.”
