Mog Jones unveils latest track "It Ain't Easy"

Cornwell based singer-songwriter Mog Jones has recently released her latest track, "It Ain't Easy", which is the second single to be released after her debut EP titled "Mog." dropped back in 2019.

Jones has been making music since she was a 9 year-old and has been songwriting since then too. This latest effort was self-recorded and was produced/mixed by her own sister, making this release a very family orientated one.

Kicking off right away one thing that grabs my attention is her voice, the vocals remind me a lot of Wolf Alice's Ellie Rowsell with the guitar tones reminiscent of that of big 70's bands such T-Rex and the lighter tones of Roxy Music in parts.

It's no surprise that when you find out major influences of her's are David Bowie, Stevie Nicks, Haim, and Jack White - three acts that span well over 50 years - and that might be why you can hear sounds from various points in music history.

The singer-songwriter has played a variety of venues and bars throughout her home county of Cornwall and has supported the likes of Albert Lee & Leo Sayer, as well as performing at the infamous Boardmasters Festival.
The track is very kind to your ears from start to finish, and with a few genres kicking about in it there's something for everyone.
Her debut album is out this month, and to be kept in the loop be sure to follow her on Spotify to be notified as soon as it's available.
