Tommy Roland releases his debut single, "Blondie"

Tommy Roland has today released his debut single, "Blondie", and right from the start, it's a warm welcome to yet another artist who has so much to offer from their first release. "Blondie" initially hits you with a very Ska vibe, especially with those guitars and drum patterns suggesting it could rival the likes of Madness, however, the track evolves quite a lot over the next 30 seconds or so.

Wrap your ears around this sun-kissed new tune by an artist who - by the sounds of it has got the indie-pop world in his hands.

With a rush of drums coming in the track picks up pace quickly, and with his warm vocal tones caressing the track you're now deep into a Summer anthem that (let's be honest) you will be returning to whenever the sun is out.

His vocals are layered upon one another throughout the single, but with plenty of effects laced on top such as delay, nicely used elements of auto-tune, and whispering voices too. One thing is for sure, Tommy wants people to love his music and his voice too!

Speaking about the debut cut, the Philadelphia artist says - "I wanted to capture the feeling of Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles, while putting my own spin on it. One of the last live events I attended was a show by The Wailers, Bob Marley’s old band. I love reggae, the way you can feel the bass in your chest, so hopefully, listeners can too. I was really inspired by Passion Pit’s Make Light, Ryn Weaver’s Octahate, as well as future bass music by artists like Wave Racer"

If this isn't enough for you, Mr Roland will be releasing his debut EP this coming Autumn, but while we wait for that you can wrap your ears around this sun-kissed new tune by an artist who - by the sounds of it has got the indie-pop world in his hands.
