Band of the Year drops new single, "Money Talks"

Band of the Year has today dropped their brand new single, "Money Talks", which is their first slice of music since March of 2022. It sounds like they've been locked away and have returned with a banger by how powerful it is. Band of the Year sound like the real deal, and if their next batch of tracks are like this then they could be making big strides in their local scene. "Money Talks" keeps their slightly lo-fi rock and roll feel with hazy guitars on top of one another and vocal tones that reminds us of Art Brut crossed with the yelps of Franz Ferdinand. Speaking about the new single the band says - "This song has what you need to succeed in hating the 1% and everything they stand for!" The track is lifted off a forthcoming EP which they managed to record all in just a day, helping to give it that raw rock'n'roll feel to it. Isaac Neilson drops charismatic new single, "Dead Set Dance"

Known in the UK for it's bottled mineral water, Buxton isn't the first place you'd think of as a place for an emerging singer-songwriter to be from, but here we are. The artist in mind is Isaac Neilson and he's recently shared his new single, "Dead Set Dance", which comes off the back of his most successful release to date - "Tear This Down" with over 40k plays on Spotify alone. "Dead Set Dance" has it all, nostalgic tones mixed with edgy vocal hooks and charismatic percussion. The new offering is dominated by a rather grunge-rock inspired guitar tone from the outset, and vocally it's a but hazy with some tones that you'd expect to hear from bands based out of the West Coast of the USA. The chorus is pretty damn infectious with angsty and post-punk sounding bursts of guitar and cascading drums underlining it all. ALCHA unveils dreamy, "Nowhere to Go"

Having launched back in 2022 with his debut single, "Steady", ALCHA is back with hi first cut of 2023 . Titled "Nowhere to Go" it's a fantastic slice of hazy indie-pop, but for us it's so much more than just that. From 2016-2019 he was residing in the UK, which helped him get the opportunity to be surrounded by a plethora of artist that helped him to get to where he is today. The single sounds like it's building up for something massive! The sound ALCHA has got is so damn smooth, we have elements of dream-pop that can be heard throughout the track, bouncy guitar-lines cherry-picked from some indie-pop anthems, crisp percussion and hazy vocals that sounds like Beck has had an influence. The single sounds like it's building up for something massive, and the way ALCHA is going about making music I'm sure we will see (and hear) a lot more from this rising Parisian singer-songwriter in the not too distant future.

Damn The Wolves reveal's crunching new tune, "Rules"

Yesterday saw Damn The Wolves reveal their crunching new tune, "Rules", which is the first track from the Cambourne band since their self-titled debut single. Damn The Wolves mean business, so watch it everyone as they could quite easily take the local rock scene by storm - then who knows how far they'll go! The band is a trio but based on the noises from them you'd think they're a quintet at least. Vocal tones are the name of the game here and they're just so damn anthemic, I can easily see them performing to huge crowds and everyone chanting it right back at them The chorus is incredibly charged and with cascading drums giving you a beat that you can easily mosh to. It's quite obvious by now that you too will love the song as much as we did. Damn The Wolves mean business, so watch it everyone as they could quite easily take the local rock scene by storm - then who knows how far they'll go!

Tyler Elden & The Night Figures reveal's debut single "Bruised Love"

You may know of Tyler Elden already if you're a reader of this site, and now Tyler has formed a new band called Tyler Elden & The Night Figures and today marks toe revealing of their debut single "Bruised Love". The step is a big one for Tyler as he now is going in head first into the unknown, but from what we can tell from this track is that they're going to do pretty damn well. It feels like we've been listening to them for ages that's how quickly I warmed up to their debut single, just simply fantastic! The hush vocal tones from Elden are very present as always, but what this track does it elevates it with beautiful guitar tones that reminds me of Radiohead in the mid 2000s, like borderline experimental but still keeping it well within the realms of indie-rock. The chorus is peak Tyler Elden, but once again his new band has enhanced it even more as the other members have brought so much vibrance to it all, giving it this tremendous sheen. It feels like
