Hailing from Indianapolis in the USA is Vonnegut Hardware and just last month saw the quartet reveal their new single, "Apocalypse Blues". What makes this release that extra bit special is that it's their debut release, and rather than just the one track they've only gone and dropped a B-side with it too.
The single overall is fantastic, and is a great way to quickly get into Vonnegut Hardware before they start that hype-train!
So, the lead single is a charging affair with a big guitar that commands proceedings backed up with charging vocals that can hold a festival's worth of people. It's very Foo Fighters with its wall of sound and general all-round appeal, not to mention the soaring guitars you can hear dotted around the track and the tempo of the track.
The flipside to the single is "Boradripple and Borin", which as a standalone single would be fine enough, but as a b-side it's got that somewhat rough around the edges and raw emotive charm which gives new listeners more Vonnegut Hardware to get their ears around - and more tunes to sing along to in the live setting. The single overall is fantastic, and is a great way to quickly get into Vonnegut Hardware before they start that hype train!
