The London-based singer-songwriter Drew Davies has unveiled his latest single, "You're The Only One". This song acts as a great taste of his sound as it encapsulates his major influences such as Bruce Springsteen and David Bowie.
This song serves as a fantastic introduction to his music as it perfectly reflects the energy of his main influences, David Bowie and Bruce Springsteen.
Drew's vocals also remind me of parts of Bowie's with that slight quiver in the tones, very "Space Oddity" in my opinion. Influences aside this track is a tremendous thing to listen to, it's very sonic with guitars that soar through seemingly into the atmosphere, vocal tones that U2 would love to use, and backing vocals that help to create a sense of occasion.
This is the fourth single from his forthcoming sophomore studio album "Holloway Nights" and is now nicely setting him up for a year that could define his future as a singer-songwriter. With a track like this now out in the world it won't be long before plenty more people will have heard of Drew Davies.
