Coming out of Perth, WA is Michael Day and not too long ago the singer-songwriter shared his heartwarming new single, "Nan and Pop's house".
Following on from a break of releasing music Michael's new cut "Nan and Pop's house" is a great return for one of Western Australia's finest, and as soon as you press play on the single you're welcomed into the track with warm open arms.
A wonderful slice of warm folk music with a nostalgic underbelly.
The balance of crisp acoustic tones balances off perfectly with soaring licks of guitars, not to mention they both contrast perfectly against Day's vocals. It was easily within the first 30 seconds of the song we fell in love with it, but it was when the drums kicked into gear that I found myself tapping along like I had a drum pedal underneath me.
The single has a great nostalgic feel about it with some Mumford & Sons tones crashing through it to get you into it even more. If you want to fall in love with this track then go ahead and do it, and once you've fallen for it do it once more with the video for the single.
