Washington DC's very own Hays Dowdy has recently shared their bright new cut, "Inside the City", and what makes this single even more special is that it's their debut single, and what a joy it is.
It's incredible to think that this is someone's debut single, as when you start off the song it's already filling your ears up with indie-pop tones that feel like they deserve to be played on the stage at major festivals the world over.

Vocally we're presented with something that is both charming and yet captivating, with a twang of pop-punk even coming through mixed with the direct nature of British indie stalwarts Two Door Cinema Club. The guitar breakdown around the midway point is possibly a nod to some of their influences, perhaps some glam-rock bands I'm sure as there's also a high synth tone from the same era floating about in the background.
All things considered, this is a fantastic track for Hays Dowdy to launch their project off with, and rest assured that we will be keeping an eye on them - but of course - so do be sure to follow their journey too.
