Annie And The Jays shares their nostalgic tune, "If You Wanted To You Would"

Annie And The Jays back in May released their debut single, "If You Wanted To You Would", and the sense of nostalgia on this is beyond anything I could imagine as it's almost like I stepped back in time.

The jangly guitars at the start honestly made me want to stick around, so once you first listen to this be sure to remember how you felt on the first listen!

Almost as I started the song from the Edinburgh-based band I felt this soft and warm tone flow through my head, it's a bit like The Cranberries mixed with the chunkier early sound of Wolf Alice. The mix of the song especially is rather good with the vocals giving me something to really latch onto, even from the first play.

Speaking about the new single the band says - " ... "If You Wanted To You Would" is a dreamy and wistful track that simultaneously conveys the excitement of attraction and

the angst of unknown reciprocation. We made the song feel like summer, sparks, and anticipation on a dusk road trip."

Those high-tone bursts of synth/keyboard sounds add more depth to what already is an upbeat song, and when the chorus hits the track seemingly gets filled up with glorious sun-kissed sounds. The jangly guitars at the start honestly made me want to stick around, so once you first listen to this be sure to remember how you felt on the first listen!
