Released earlier this month is Andrew Alarcon's dark and dreamy new tune, "Otherwise". The new single from the NY-based artist is absolutely huge and features some vocals that can only be described as big and wholesome.
A blend of dreamy elements mixed with nostalgic guitar sounds, wrapped up with solid production.
The sounds of "Otherwise" remind me a lot of Cigarettes After Sex, but with a slight early 90s sound to it with a jangly guitar that you'd expect to find on The Smiths songs. The blend of sounds on this is one to behold, and this was one of those tracks that won us over on the first play, and by the second time around it had us delving into their back catalogue.
The whole song has this raw undertone, apologetic and honest with a smattering of amazing guitar work. The production levels on this are near-perfection and speaking of the track Andrew mentions - " ... the song captures the vulnerability of confronting one’s inner turmoil while yearning for clarity and hope. "
