Sirenglas has a new track out, and since we've heard "Glass Between Us", we've been playing it to the point where it could be obsessive. The new track from the Vancouver-based act is literally filled with the very best sounds that the New-Wave and Post-Punk-Revival scene has to offer, with sounds reminiscent of anything in the range of The Smiths to Bloc Party.
... a shot of pure post-punk adrenaline—urgent riffs, relentless energy, and vocals that hit like a jolt of nostalgia straight from the early 2000s indie heyday.
The guitar riffs on this remind me a lot of alarms – urgent and to the point,t with it intended to get your attention in the shortest span of time possible. Vocally, this is also very direct, and with the sounds on offer bringing me back to my late teenage years, I can smell the old car I was driving once more!
The breakdowns are sublime too, not giving you one second of rest (I dare to drum along to this; otherwise, I may faint). It's frantic and full-on, with nostalgia rippling forever through it. Be sure to give "Glass Between Us" before it's everywhere!
