Richard Tyler Epperson shares his new album, "Fragmented Night"

Based out of Utah is a favourite artist of ours, Richard Tyler Epperson, and he has been on an unstoppable run, serving up a trio of singles that not only showcase his versatility but also position him as one of the most exciting emerging voices in his region.

... a genre-blending, emotionally rich album that channels the spirit of Coldplay, Foo Fighters, and Radiohead, marking him as one of the region’s most exciting emerging talents.

"December Night" opens up the album, and a piano tone twinkles at the start before exploding into a symphony of guitars, bass and full-on drums. It sounds something like Snow Patrol or Coldplay with how complete it is, and when Richard's vocals come rolling in it feels like it evolves right before your eyes. "I Love It When It's Cold" comes up next, and it's more of a chilled song, with that trend continuing with "On Your Side" and its twinkling ivory sounds.

"All My Life" is another one of the tracks we loved on this record. The song has a very striking guitar tone that's heard right from the outset, and when combined with the stunning vocal tone, it is up there with the very best in the genre. Once the drums and big sounds collide, it sounds very much like a tune by Foo Fighters, especially around the first minute mark.

"Like Everything Else" makes that centre of the LP even stronger, and it might just be Richard’s most genre-blending track yet. Within a minute, it channels Radiohead-style guitars, Imagine Dragons-esque vocals, and a funky, spine-tingling undertone.

"She Don't Care" is once more one of those piano-driven songs laced with soul, think Coldplay but with a jazzy and alt-rock underbelly. "Dream" was a song that we have to admit is an underlying belter, it's quirky with some psychedelic noise heard on it with soaring guitars, if anything, this is a great way to sum up his sound and the album as a whole.  Every time, we say this is his best song yet, but this album could truly be his greatest release to date.
