$yndrm unveils the nostalgic single, "Sweet Life"

New York City's $yndrm has recently unveiled the nostalgic single, "Sweet Life". The song opens up with this big sweeping synth that sounds like it's been influenced by the sweeping waves of a tropical island.

... a dreamy synth-pop gem with reverb-soaked vocals, moody basslines, and a hint of Simple Minds and INXS that'll have you hitting repeat in no time.

Vocally, it's very ethereal, with tones that remind me of the mid-1990s scene in the UK, and while I'm on that there is some solid Simple Minds-style sounds on here too. It's the blend of dreamy instrumental moments with the reverb vocals that does it for me.

Add in a splash of moody bass, and it'll have you grooving along to it in no time, with that bass giving me throwback sounds of INXS - and to some extent, those slow-burner tracks by The 1975. Be sure to keep an ear out for the piano; it was the cherry on the cake for me and was the moment I clicked on the 'repeat' button on Spotify.
