Toronto band 5th PROJEKT has recently revealed a live version of their track, "Oblivion", lifted off their upcoming EP, "Live in London". Now I'm not going to point out the obvious here or where it was recorded, but the sound of the song is incredible; it sounds like it's better than the original.
... a moody, live version full of scorched guitars, haunting vocals, and Cure-worthy vibes.
There aren't too many bands that can turn their studio track, all polished and mixed into one, that sounds phenomenal in a live recording. I think off the top of my head, the Twenty One Pilots live EP with Mutemath was the only one that stands out for me, well, now this/.
It's a real slow-burner of a track with moody vocals wrapped around a dark and moody guitar tone that janglys away like something from a track by The Cure. Scorched guitars are dotted about, and with the bass growing the track deep into your head, this is certainly one you'll be revisiting more often than not.
