After a two-year break from releasing music, Where We Sleep is back with the hypnotically stunning new track, "Headlong". Fronted by vocalist Beth Rettig, she mentions - "The song is about escape from a chaotic black hole, about a realisation and awareness you need to extricate yourself from a situation, and take back control."
... a hypnotic dark alt-rock track blending cinematic synths, surging guitars, and Muse-esque vocals.
The dark and alt-rock-driven track is sensational from the very start, and when you factor in some Muse-esque vocals, the track will spike your interest if you like your driven rock belters. The track for me shines throughout, and with a mixture of synths, programmed beats, and surging guitars, creating a cinematic soundscape that is both haunting and hook-laden, with foot-tapping beats in every corner.
The dark tune is a real surprise for me, and even on the first play, I felt myself gravitating to their previous releases way before the track finished. It's so great to hear an act that's not afraid to make cinematic dark music with a pulse that can awaken anyone from the depths.
