Antoin Gibson has returned with the striking new single, "Venom-laced Tears". The new song from the Londoner is an incredibly cinematic dark-pop cut that has some angelic vocals to simply lure you in from the get-go.
... a cinematic dark-pop stunner, think Grimes with British bite.
Honestly, if Grimes were a British artist, this is how she might sound, as the comparisons are uncanny. Antoin's vocals are simply stunning with a lot of grit, raw emotions and British sass mixed in with the angelic tones heard in the intro.
The wobbly bass is a real winner for me, throbbing its way into my heart - and even on the first listen, this was one of the main instruments that got me wanting more. "Venom-laced Tears" is both seductive and addictive; it's an art-pop piece that thrives on tension and that straddles happily across dark-pop and electronic sub-genres.
