StarAV return with their new offering, "Falling Down". It’s been at least two years since this outfit last featured on the site, so their return is very much welcomed.
... a dark, genre-blurring experimental gem.
The new track, "Falling Down", is an experimental soundscape that feels rich in texture and depth, blending alternative sonic layers with late-night, radio-friendly pop sensibilities. It’s bold in tone, with moody vocals and chiming elements set against a strong, driving percussion line. While deceptively simple in structure, it still manages to get you tapping along.
At just under two and a half minutes, you might expect it to be over in a flash - but the “Enable Repeat” button on Spotify quickly becomes your best friend. Each listen reveals new layers that weren’t immediately obvious, particularly those angelic tones reminiscent of a collaboration between Bring Me The Horizon and Grimes. It’s dark, haunting, and yet continually draws you back in.
All in all, it’s a strong example of genre-blurring done right - an experimental standout that really delivers. If you’re new to StarAV, you’re in for a treat.
