Vacant Shores returns with "Palimpsest", their cinematic new song!

Bristol, England-based trio Vacant Shores return with "Palimpsest". The cinematic new song runs just under four minutes and, from the very start, you are greeted with sweeping synths that gradually introduce a simple yet effective percussion line.

... a haunting, cinematic synth-pop return that blends ethereal vocals with moody, atmospheric production.

As soon as the vocals come in, it feels reminiscent of something "Grimes" might have written a few years ago. The delivery is ever-present in the mix, angelic at times, soaring through the air with an ethereal tone underpinning everything. It feels both intimate and haunting, with dark textures rolling beneath the surface throughout.

This is also the first release since their debut self-titled EP in December 2025. It sounds like the trio are making a clear statement with their return. If you enjoy chilled, downtempo, synth-driven music with plenty of atmosphere, this is well worth your attention.
