Lonely Gimmick returns "Warmer Days and Sunny Skies"

Lonely Gimmick from Dunstable, England returns with "Warmer Days and Sunny Skies". The new cut is one of those insanely catchy indie tunes from the very get-go, and with a lovely 90s feel to the guitar tones, it's one that surely hooked me in.

... a bright, nostalgia-tinged indie gem blending jangly guitars, soulful textures, and infectious 90s-inspired energy.

The vocals especially reminded me of that retro tone that took over the UK by Storm about 35 years ago. You can easily hear his influences here, with the jangly guitars echoing those of Johnny Marr from The Smiths, alongside some soulful grooves mixed in with those subtle lo-fi textures that are flowing all over the track.

What I did appreciate about this release is that he put out an alternative version of the song with subtle differences. What that does for a rising artist is give their new fans plenty more opportunities to get stuck into their music and build their plays. Yes, there's also an instrumental track on this release, but the main single and the alternative version are, I feel, going to be two of the best-performing tracks that he's released to date.

The upbeat nature of it reminds me of Foals, the vocals remind me somewhat of that Britpop scene, all wrapped up in this soulful hug.
