Sunset Collective release video for new single "Take Me Home"

At the tail end of 2020 Sunset Collective released their video for their latest single "Take Me Home". The Yorkshire based band are from Sheffield, which is a hub for great guitar based music, and these five fine gents are one of those bands that are keeping the light on for the local scene.

The quintet formed at the tail end of 2019 and right away didn't hang about with the release of three singles by the end of 2020, one of which being "Take Me Home".

"Take Me Home" is just over three minutes of pure indie-rock with plenty of hooks and tumbling drums.

The tune sounds like The Pigeon Detectives mixed in with a bit of the jangly guitars that you hear in The Courteeners work. It's punchy and addictive with some sexy basslines. Sam from the band said -"The bulk of the song is about breaking out of somebody’s hold on you, it’s about realising your in a unhealthy relationship be that with a partner, a friend or some other acquaintance. The song isn’t about feeling sorry for yourself it’s about getting up and doing something about it."

The band formed at a tough time for the music industry, but that hasn't slowed them down at all. With a trio of singles already in the bag, it sounds like they're going to be an act to keep an eye on this year, especially if live shows start up again. So be sure to head to Spotify and give them a follow, their first two singles are pretty slick too!
