Having started releasing music back in 2019 it's been a steady rise for the Swedish singer-songwriter Ceci Noir, and just over a week ago the Borlänge-based artist shared her new single, "Away". The single was initially teased and then released as an 'acoustic live session' before this full-blown studio version came out (so if you want a more stripped-back version of "Away" then it's good news!)
"Away" is equally energetic, brooding, and exciting with plenty of layers to unravel.
"Away is grunge heavy, even from the get-go it feels almost as if you've been transported back to 1994, right when Oasis was starting to get big. Indeed the sounds of Oasis have possibly influenced Ceci a bit here with the main guitar sounding huge and very 'Manchester'.
Vocally it's great and once again provides you with a big slice of 90s nostalgia, but all the while sounding as fresh as anything.
