The amazingly named St. Jimi Sebastian Cricket Club last week released their bold new cut, "Golden Parachuter". The single is the first since their 2022 effort "Sailor Girl", but this time around it's a guitar-filled three-and-a-half-minute epic.
Catchy, nostalgic, and utterly mesmerising.
Almost immediately you're welcomed into the song with a soaring guitar, but not long as it fades away into a very folk-driven vocal tone and acoustic guitar which gives you plenty of time to love the track. It has somewhat of a mid-90s Britpop feel here, especially when it bursts back into the chorus before your eyes.
The collection of vocal melodies on this is fantastic and it truly adds to the experience, offering the listener plenty of chances to sing along. The best thing is that the song acts as a major teaser for their forthcoming album - due next year - so if you like this then be sure to follow them on the socials!
