Hailing from Toronto in Canada, it's Allyson Whitmell, and just a few days ago, she saw the singer-songwriter release her new track, "Crack in my Window.". The new offering is her first outing since 2024's "Subway" and it sounds like she may be gearing up for something big.
Speaking of the track Whitmell says - "That moment in time when you say goodbye to a place close to your heart".
The tune starts off with this soothing vocal tone laid on a dreamy bed of strings and delicate keyboard tones. Safe to say that this blew us away on the first play is an understatement, as her vocals alone are absolutely stunning. The strings even hit me as the type that blockbuster films would pine over to play on top of a moody montage; it's that good.
Continuing on she mentions - "My hope is that this song resonates with anyone who has been or is currently in the process of moving on from something, someplace, or even someone."
With more tunes on Spotify we're sure that if you like this then you'll really like what she has to offer on her older tracks. The sounds she's got on her music are stunning, and she's going to be at the forefront of the Toronto scene sooner rather than later!
