Following on from their breakout debut single, "Vice", Glasgow-based heavyskint are back with a strong new offering, "When Are You Coming For Me Jesus?". The new tune is a rather intense second single with some sounds that reminded me a lot of Algiers and even Savages.
... an intense, riot-ready indie rock cut packed with snarling vocals, noisy guitars, and brooding atmosphere.
The song is a brooding mix of alternative and indie rock, with some very unique vocals that snarl and are delightfully rough. Produced by Arran Black, the track blends incredibly noisy and washed-out guitars, moody atmospherics, all mixed with a thick bass and a percussive section that can entice riots in a live setting.
Following their sold-out King Tuts headline, heavyskint have seemingly cemented their reputation on their local scene, and with influences from the likes of Fontaines D.C. and Wunderhorse (amongst others), their sound is going to be one that people will definitely be sticking around for. So be sure to check them out live too if you love what you heard!
