Pure Indie on Spotify

Danny Suede shares the sun-kissed new tune, "shadows on the pavement"

Bursting out from Spokane, United States, is Danny Suede, who has recently released his new track titled "shadows on the pavement". The new offering from the American singer-songwriter has already shot to the top of his most popular songs on Spotify, and I can easily tell why from the very first minute. ... a shimmering, uplifting slice of bedroom pop that feels made for sunny days. The opening sequence of the song is a delicate balance of acoustic guitar mixed with his serene vocals and a dash of electronic pulses just to get you all warmed up. For me, the fusion of bedroom pop and alternative pop sounds reminded me of an early Ed Sheeran as he was about to take over the British music scene. With that in mind, it sounds like Danny is also going in that direction. It is such an uplifting track and has brilliant shimmering moments that make this an unmistakably top pick for your Sunkissed playlists. He is an artist who is on the rise, so be sure to listen to him as soon as you...

The Owl Sounds returns with their big new single, "K-Town"

Hailing from Wexford, Ireland, The Owl Sounds have sensationally returned with their exhilarating follow-up to their debut single, "Oscar". ... a dynamic '90s-infused alt-rock single packed with driving basslines and unstoppable melodic hooks. "K-Town" is a dynamic track that has a solid bassline with an alternative rock underbody that reminds me a lot of the mid- to late-1990s scene. If you liked the more melodic new tracks and offerings from the likes of Stereophonics, then this is a perfect middle ground for you, with plenty of hooks to have you leaning in at every opportunity. Considering they are now only two singles into their career, this is certainly an offering that will have you pining for more. Be sure to check out their social media, as we feel like this band could be blowing up at any time. Want us to hear your music? EVE.L shares her pop-banger, "SUGAR EATER."

EVE.L, a bold UK-based artist originating from England, is back - and if you like the sound of Grimes and early Charli XCX, this is for you. ... an explosive, Coachella-ready pop fusion blending Grimes-esque vocals with tropical and K-pop influences into a high-energy anthem. The sounds on offer are a unique blend, with the genres on show going all the way from tropical pop to K-pop and basically everything in between. Vocally it is very much reminiscent of Grimes, as I mentioned earlier, but the production values on this sound like it's been written to be performed on the biggest stage at Coachella. It's a real eargasm for those who are looking for a very pop-driven track that isn't on the verge of hyperpop, but still has enough oomph and charm about it that you'll be hooked after the first listen. With now two releases to her name, she has surpassed the 200,000-play mark on Spotify, so she is certainly an artist who's on the rise. Be sure to keep your eye out for ...

Bloodyarvo reveals their debut single, "Feel My Heart Sleeps"

Sitting at zero monthly listeners on Spotify is Bloodyarvo, however, the reason for that is that they have JUST launched onto the streaming service with their their debut single, "Feel My Heart Sleeps" - and my goodness what an intro to the band we have. As debut singles go this is certainly in the 'God Tier' Opening up with smooth almost soulful vocals and drips of guitar tones sets the mood for the rest of the song, it's slightly seductive and funky. Instrumentally in the verses it's stripped back with not too many instruments crowding it all, ensuring that you can really get a chance to hear every member of the band at their finest. Mood-wise it reminds me of a slow Foals track but with the psychedelia nods of Tame Impala's more upbeat tracks, add some almost grunge sounding guitars and drums and this song will turn you into a fan like it did for me. In their bio the band mentions - "It's about what Ariq (front-man) experienced during 2020 lock...

Korda Korder showcases their best on "Edge Of The World"

Bexhill, England's own Korda Korder deliver their finest release yet with "Edge Of The World". Right from the outset, the track has a lush dream-pop wash mixed with a delicate touch of shoegaze, reminding me a lot of The Cranberries and Wolf Alice. ... a stunning, shoegaze-tinted dream-pop epic that showcases Korda Korder at their absolute finest. Building upon their acclaim with Glastonbury and SXSW, as well as support from BBC Radio 6 Music alongside plenty of online zines, it sounds like they are now ready to go into their ballad phase with this absolute epic three-minute piece. It's one of their slower-paced tracks, but still packs a punch with how stunningly beautiful it is, with the vocals balancing perfectly with the shimmering guitar lines and crisp backline. If you are looking for a fantastic new act from the UK to follow, then I would always recommend this band. They are forever showcasing their talent, and it is just a matter of time before the world knows ...

Beejar drop the fierce new cut, "Playing to the Gallery"

Hailing from London, England, four-piece Beejar have delivered their fierce and sonic new statement titled "Playing to the Gallery". It kicks off with an incredibly bold guitar line and punching drums before it erupts into a real earworm of an indie-rock belter. ... an explosive, high-intensity London alt-rock anthem blending classic rock grit with bold indie energy. If you like the sound of Wolf Alice, then this new outfit is certainly going to be a white hope for the streets. The new single is their first since their 2025 single, "What You Wanna Be". It's a real thriller of a ride, with some classic rock grit mixed with the modern intensity of indie rock. This comes off the back of some sold-out shows across London, with highlights including a show for the War Child charity. Now with a quintet of singles out, the band are looking to build upon their success, so be sure to follow them on social media and head out if you are in London to see them perform live. ...

Hitlist shares the infectious new song, "Dirtbrain"

Leeds, UK outfit Hitlist return with "Dirtbrain", an infectious anthem that captures the essence of modern angst with stylish licks of guitar. The track sits in that perfect region between vibrant Britpop hooks, post-punk, and the more '80s punkier sound, especially with the direct vocals. ... a high-voltage, Britpop-infused post-punk anthem packed with infectious hooks and chaotic energy. It's got a chaotic energy that is undeniable and will certainly have you tapping along with your feet, your head, or whatever limb is ready. You'll be able to tap along with it in no time. It's got such an addictive beat; it's insane. Considering this is their second standalone single following their debut, "Girlfriend", in February of this year, they've since gone on to release an EP titled "Cereal", but this is where the band is now. I feel like it is a great gateway song if you wanted to discover their sound. Even though it is sub-three minutes...

Track of the week... Garden City Movement - Pont des Arts

Earlier this year we responded to an email inviting us down to an 'industry-invite-only' show, and this band were last on the bill. I tried to listen to all of the bands before popping down, but I forgot to do one, this band. When they finally took to the stage they instantly wowed my with their vast array of pedals giving them the most anthematic, atmospheric and gorgeous guitar sounds I've heard in a long-while, and I still stand by that! I loved their performance I even caught them play in a small stage at Galstonbury, which was one of the most exciting acts I saw that weekend. Last week we saw the Tel-Aviv band's brand new track "Pont des Arts" finally get a online airing, after only being played through live shows fans were essentially demanding to hear it over and over again. The song is a great one to get into the band with, combine slick on-stage production, ethereal vocals layered and layered upon each other, guitars draped in lashes of reverb a...
