Max Macready unveils their retro debut track, "Holding Pattern"

London-based duo Max Macready have made a stunning entrance with their debut single, "Holding Pattern". The cut is a brooding yet uplifting darkwave track pulsing with cinematic synths and 80s nostalgia , think New Order if they had some moodier vocals infused with glamrock riffs . ... a cinematic darkwave gem pulsing with 80s nostalgia, analogue warmth, and moody, synth-driven allure. The track really does sound both fresh as a daisy and as nostalgic as an Atari 5200 , with swirls of sounds that sound destined for a soundtrack to something like Stranger Things . Driven by analogue textures and moody vocals, "Holding Pattern" captured us from the first play - I'm just gutted we have to wait for more tunes now - and we feel that if you like the darker side to the alt/indie scene then this would be perfect for you. Fringe Frontier reveals their reflective new single, "City of Dreams"

Florida-based alt-rock outfit Fringe Frontier returns with their dreamy and retro-tinted new single, " City of Dreams ". Their fifth single of the year is a really atmospheric affair with a superb blend of folky Americana twangs and retro-tinted guitar sounds, somewhat of a The Smiths sound mixed in with Wilco . ... a lush, retro-tinged gem blending The Smiths-style jangle with Americana grit and heart. It's got this gritty underbelly thanks to the guitar sounds, a rich background of sounds swirl around your head, while the vocals grip you with hardly any effort. It's the kind of track that you know from the first 10 seconds that you'll be staying for the entire duration. The addictive blend of sounds is (for me at least) a key reason I ended up delving back into previous releases, and with a strength as strong as that, you know that Fringe Frontier are destined to break out of their scene at any point! Hastings-based outfit Woodpig return with their second-ever single, " Chaos Set to Automatic ", which is a stirring blend of folk, indie rock, and Americana that explores the restless side of heartbreak. ... a soulful blend of folk, indie rock, and Americana that captures heartbreak beautifully. From the outset of the song, you have this warm, bluesy sound that just gives off pure Americana vibes, and to say that we had our ears captured from the very start might be an understatement. This blend of genres really gets us excited, and the vocals from Al (frontman) are just so soothing and heartfelt. Dead Feather ignites truth and power on "American Dreams"

Edmond-based artist Dead Feather has released a huge statement of a track with " American Dreams ", which is a hard-hitting rock anthem that blends 80s and 90s influences with raw, emotional storytelling. ... a gritty, 80s-meets-90s rock anthem pulsing with raw emotion. Vocally, I'm reminded of Lou Reed mixed with Nick Cave , with some haunting synth tones added in for good measure. The track is a part of his upcoming album " Cate Heleswv (Red Medicine) Vol. 1 ", and as far as we go this might be one heck of a gateway song into his forthcoming LP. "American Dreams" really goes out and captures both sides of anger and hope through chunky and electrifying guitar riffs to those brooding and commanding dual vocals. PHWOAR drop their energetic new cut, "So Much Better"

Birmingham duo PHWOAR are back with their punchy, high-voltage new single, " So Much Better ". As soon as you hit play you'll be greeted with a burst of gritty riffs and punchy percussion. ... a relentless, riff-driven blast of post-punk chaos and garage-rock swagger . The track, for me at least, reminds me of early Blood Red Shoes with how relentless the track is. It does not drop below 10 throughout, and with the chorus having a very memorable vocal section, you may easily find yourself humming along to this way before the track has finished. With its blend of post-punk chaos and garage-rock swagger,"So Much Better" seemingly bridges two major sub-genres, so keep an eye on them as they can easily go viral soon with the right conditions (I just wish I was based around Birmingham!). Aless Arias shares her emotive new single, "Deep End"

Syndye-based singer-songwriter Aless Arias recently shared her emotive new single, " Deep End ." It's a cracking track that has us replaying it all weekend, mainly because of the intro, but the whole cut is (in my opinion) her best track to date. ... brooding vocals , hazy dream-rock , and jangly riffs mark her as a rising indie-rock star. Even though she's just three tracks into her solo career, it's been laced with her insanely brooding vocals, all teh while mixed in with peak 2000's indie-rock sounds . "Deep End" reminds me a lot of Bloc Party 's deep riffs and the darkness of The Cure , with the hazy dream-rock atmosphere overcasting on the whole track with a slight jangly guitar sound keeping it all rooted.
