IT'S ALL INDIE

Bursting out from Spokane, United States, is Danny Suede, who has recently released his new track titled "shadows on the pavement". The new offering from the American singer-songwriter has already shot to the top of his most popular songs on Spotify, and I can easily tell why from the very first minute. ... a shimmering, uplifting slice of bedroom pop that feels made for sunny days. The opening sequence of the song is a delicate balance of acoustic guitar mixed with his serene vocals and a dash of electronic pulses just to get you all warmed up. For me, the fusion of bedroom pop and alternative pop sounds reminded me of an early Ed Sheeran as he was about to take over the British music scene. With that in mind, it sounds like Danny is also going in that direction. It is such an uplifting track and has brilliant shimmering moments that make this an unmistakably top pick for your Sunkissed playlists. He is an artist who is on the rise, so be sure to listen to him as soon as you...

RISE returns with the moving new track, "Talking To Your Ghost Again"

Liverpool-based rock band RISE is back, and they have delivered a deeply moving and personal statement with "Talking To Your Ghost Again". ... a deeply moving, prog-tinged rock tribute packed with soaring vocal harmonies and heartfelt emotion. The new song is a tribute to the late singer Steve Kinley, and right from the outset, you can hear that the song is very emotional. The harmonies on this are incredibly strong, and you can easily hear the guest vocalist stayMellow shining high here, with the tones weaving perfectly amongst the prog rock sounds. It's quite nostalgic in places and has incredibly soaring moments that will elevate you out of your chair and deep within the track's belly. Salt Lake City-based singer-songwriter and producer Richard Tyler Epperson has sensationally returned with his bold new single, "One Thought Away." Within the opening sequence, you could easily hear how emotional the song is. With twinkling piano tones and spoken word, it sounds like the sort of track that Coldplay would write back in the day. ... an emotionally charged, boundary-pushing blend of genres wrapped in stunning self-produced indie flair. It seamlessly blends rap, rock, alt-pop, and indie-rock moments together, with the intimate vocals helping you lean into the song with ease. There are punching drums, a slick amount of synths, and bold guitar lines that will have anybody who chooses to listen heading into his back catalogue once the song is finished. I can't get over how well-produced the song is, and considering he did this himself, this is nothing short of astonishing. He is very much an artist who is always pushing the boundaries, and with every release tha...

Tillerman returns with the brilliant new single, "Reputation"

Coming out of Leeds, England, indie rock outfit Tillerman has recently revealed their sun-kissed new track, "Reputation". You can easily hear the Yorkshire accent here. Considering most acts these days tend to hide behind a rather generic Atlantic singing voice, it's really refreshing to hear that they are keeping true to themselves. ... a sun-kissed, 90s-inspired Britpop gem packed with huge choruses and authentic Yorkshire charm. This new single is rooted in 90s Britpop, but it also has a delicate mix of mid-2000s indie rock about it, almost like Oasis and The Kooks have decided to form a superband. It's got that sort of broad appeal. The whole track is anchored by melodic hooks, big choruses, and charming vocals that you could easily be shouting back to the band within just a couple of plays. The track is all about how fast rumours spiral out of control in the digital age. Which I remember when social media first started getting big and a couple of close friends of...

Alternative rock five-piece Nothing But Thieves have been conquering the music scene this year. With an incredible debut album released last month and numerous epic singles, there is no stopping this band. The show itself was outstanding, the live-set itself was flawless and the boat literally rocked. Check out our interview below: First question, so how did the name Nothing But Thieves come about? Joe: There’s a quote and it said, ‘Don’t be impressionable, your religious leaders are nothing but mega thieves.’ I don’t think mega thieves is a very good band name, but thought Nothing But Thieves is a good band name so there you go. Phil: What would a mega-thief be like? Joe: Steals everything like it’s not bolted down, it’s gone! When did you all decide to form a band? Were you always a five-piece? Joe: It kind of morphed. It was probably myself, Conor and Dom. We ...

The new track is titled "Faded Zero" and showcases a slick blend of electropop with some synth elements that is sure to get you hooked into the track within the first minute. ... a punchy, 90s-infused electropop anthem that delivers pure resilience through intricate synthcraft. There's plenty of bite within the track, and you can easily hear the details within his empowering message of resilience after receiving setbacks and bouncing back after them. To me, it's got a big 90s vibe underlining it all and is certainly a track that is going to sit perfectly alongside the big hitters from that era. Myself not being based in Singapore, I obviously won't be able to see him live any time soon. But if you are within the city-state, then be sure to check out his listings, as this could be quite the song to check out live (as it's so intricate and so emotive). Want us t...

Glasgow, Scotland risers heavyskint deliver a fierce, atmospheric punch with their fourth single, "Headstone". As soon as I saw this track land in my inbox, I knew that I was going to be enjoying it. Even though it was released just a week ago, I probably feel like I am responsible for a good percentage of the overall plays on Spotify. They are one of the most exciting acts to come out of Scotland in the last few years, and they have been recently nominated for the Sound of Young Scotland award, which, to me, is no surprise. ... a fierce, post-punk-infused indie rock power trip packed with 90s guitar grit and soundtrack-ready swagger. We've previously had them on the website, and if you are new to them, they are a five-piece that blends together alt-rock sounds with a strong amount of post-punk revival grit, with a dash of 90s guitars. You could almost put them into that early- to mid-2000s indie rock scene and they would not be out of place. This is yet another string to...

The delicate chimes gave way to some melodic vocals that led swiftly into the opening verse, and as soon as those guitars came in, it felt almost Americana at times.
