B. Snipes unveils his anthemic new single, "Friend"

If you like the sound of Anthemic tracks that have an underbelly of New Wave and organic instrumentation then you'll love B. Snipes and his upbeat new single, "Friend". Based out of Birmingham, AL the singer-songwriter delved right into our hearts with the intro, and let me tell you that the mixture of The Smiths sounding bass, synths and a danceable drumbeat won us from the intro alone. B. Snipes is one one seriously under-the-radar singer-songwriter! Not taking anything away from the rest of the track but the chorus of the track is the most infectious part of the track, and when you add in charismatic vocal melodies and a high-octane piano it just adds even more to what already is an atmospheric track. The breakdown towards the end is a masterstroke too, and if you get to this point we feel like you'll be heading into their back catalogue for more gems. But before you do, be sure to follow them on the social channels so you don't miss any more epic anthems like

My Giddy Aunt releases their vibrant new tune, "Bug"

Coming out of Melbourne in Australia is My Giddy Aunt and at the tail end of March saw the outfit release their new tune, "Bug", which follows their 2023 single "Whatever You Want". Speaking about the song they say - " ... the track makes for a cautionary tale about neglect of the environment and the misuse of magnifying glasses. " A vibrant mix of early 90s rock and post-punk revival influences. The trio's sound can be defined as a blend of 90s rock but with more modern twists such as angular guitar tones heard in early Bloc Party, it's bouncy, vibrant and has plenty of bit to it. Vocally it's perfect to sing along to with a voice that can easily soar above the instruments, which just gives it plenty of repeatability- I can easily see this being spun on Triple J for years to come and still sounding as fresh as it is today.

Monsonic reveals the dreamy new tune, "What Holds Your Eye?"

Back with their third single of the year is Monsonic, and just last Friday saw the act reveal their dreamy new tune, "What Holds Your Eye?". The Oklahoma City-based project has released a few singles since their first back in 2018, and just last year saw an album finally get released. ... a hazy blend of psychedelic and dream-pop The new single, "What Holds Your Eye?", opens up with a hazy blend of psychedelic and dream-pop that brings in a lot of music lovers who love soaring shoegaze tones. Vocally it's leaning to the likes of Slowdive and Ride, but what done it for me was the pace of the song. It's not your usual go-to shoegaze or alt-pop song, the beat is very danceable and will certainly be able to get a crowd at a live show moving their feet - especially in the choruses. The fact that I was a lover of this on the first play is a testament to how good of an act Monsonic truly is, so if you like your alt-leaning pop then be sure to give "What Holds

Snap Infraction share their nostalgic new single, "Touch The Sun"

Back with this third release of the year is Snap Infraction with their new single, "Touch The Sun". The latest offering from the Philadelphia-based trio is more leaning towards the acoustic side of things, possibly even dabbling into the realms of The Beatles' later work too. A wonderful stroll down memory lane with "Touch The Sun". The nostalgic cut is laced with acoustically-driven guitars backed up with a basslike that'll be sure to keep you all warm and cosy on a winter's night. Vocally I felt like I was taken back to the 1970s, more to the point around the time of when The Beatles were coming to an end. It's very power-pop meets early new-wave with the vocal approach, but when it comes to the instrumentation here it's nothing short of crisp and sleek. If you'll be a first-time listener to Snap Infraction then this is one of the best songs to start on, and they've got plenty more where that came from with seasonal tracks to more upbea

We love being there from the very beginning, and artists that we've discovered before their first major release are George Erza, Bastille and now NOISY. A new band from Manchester is looking to join in with their jangly slice of indie-rock. .... this is a fantastic track to launch their career off with. daisychain's debut single, "Stay", is one of the most upbeat debut singles we've heard this year, and with a distinctively early 2000s indie-rock sound about it there is a great nostalgic tone underlining. Having grown up in the early 2000s with the indie scene this shimmering track is very much like the early Bombay Bicycle Club songs mixed with the energy of The Kooks. Being based out of Manchester hasn't got to the band's head it seems as they've kept this rather organic and grounded, but this is a fantastic track to launch their career off with. Kwolek shares his hazy new single, "Ronnie Stole This Riff/Kim Is Desperate"

Hailing from Boulder, CO is Kwolek, and just last Friday saw the singer-songwriter shareed his new single, "Ronnie Stole This Riff/Kim Is Desperate". As we first thought when we first saw the title, 'oh it's an AA-side single', but this isn't as such, with Kwolek even mentioning in the press release "It's two songs in one!" . He then expanded saying "The first is about the love of making music and the second is about discovering the song that saves your life. Both songs crash together in the end in a glorious mash of a bunch of "waves" ... " A wall of fuzzy guitars and hazy vocals, we love it. Obviously being two songs in one you'd have thought maybe that it's two unfinished songs and it'll be a quickfire tune, well no. This comes in at nearly five minutes long and the initial sound is a wall of fuzzy guitars and hazy vocals, a real treat for the new-wave fan inside all of us. With the same beat throughout the s

FOX VIOLET drop their new anthem, "Good Girl"

Bursting out of the Californian music scene like a car blasting past at 300mph is FOX VIOLET with their new anthem, "Good Girl". The outfit has been consistently dropping their tunes since 2019 with thousands of plays along the way, culminating in their debut album coming out in 2021. "Good Girl" is a punk-rock track that you can easily get your teeth sunk into on the first play, plenty of bite and hooks in this one! To say this is a comeback is an understatement as it's so frantic you can easily forget they've not been releasing music for nearly three years. The track is a fantastic rush of punk-rock with angsty female vocals that soar through the air, filled with rage and power. "Good Girl" is certainly going to herald a new era for the LA-based band, and based on how energetic this is it'll be charging them into a new realm. Belfountain reveals their latest single, "Rattle On"

Back with just his second single release is Belfountain and their powerful latest single, "Rattle On". The single comes hot off the heels of the debut cut "Give It Up" and it's certainly keeping the hype up with plenty of soaring vocal melodies. The dreamy nature of this track enhances it thoroughly for me and when you add in the vocals swooning on top they just elevate it. The instruments here are a slick piece of work too, ranging from synthy keyboards to more organic percussion and everything in-between. Kelley Cole releases her stunning new single, "twenty five"

Based out of Nashville, TN is the sublime Kelley Cole and today she has released her stunning new single, "twenty five".It's rather obvious from the get-go that Kelley's vocals are the main point of focus for new listeners, they're laid upon some tender organic instruments and if I'm being honest that only enhances the feel of the song. ...powerful, emotive and theatrical but with a solid indie-rock vibe underlining it all. Plenty of strings are heard throughout the song, and a fantastic guitar tone is heard before the first chorus hits the track feels elevated and borderline anthemic. The way it evolves before your ears is amazing too, it's like 'ok you like this, you'll love what's next'. Towards the end, it feels more like a song that the likes of Sigrid would write, powerful, emotive and theatrical but with a solid indie-rock vibe underlining it all.

Shai Brides unveils their upbeat new single, "Little Things"

Since their first single dropped in 2019 Shai Brides have been consistently been releasing upbeat slices if indie-pop perfection, and today the band has unveiled their equally upbeat new single, "Little Things". Infectious indie-pop, you'll be bopping along in no time. If you are fans of Fickle Friends, The 1975 and Pale Waves then Shai Brides sounds is the best of all three of those bands, wrapped up in one nostalgic-sounding bow. The energetic start to the song almost got me in as a fan, it's so angular and with the frantic drumbeat I was already tapping along before I knew it. Vocally it's so strong with both female and male vocals on show, and it works so well. Simply upbeat and sublime indie-pop still can't sum this track up, it takes a lot for us to be so engrossed into a track on the first play, but Shai Brides certainly got a new fan in us today!
